Bears Ventura is proud to support our President in his efforts in the next AIDS/LifeCycle. Along with DJ Steve Mercado and Paddy’s, Steve Dawson is planning an evening of music, dancers, auctions and more. The Bears are joining in some very special ways…which you’ll just have to be there to enjoy.
Mark your calendars and find something RED to wear because this will be a night that you won’t want to miss!

Last year we had this event planned and Mother Nature did a number on our day! So much, that the park didn’t even open that day. Let’s hope this year she’ll be a little nicer to us.

NEW night for Movie Night

Being the budget bears that we are, we decided to move our Movie night to the 2nd Tuesday of the month and take advantage of $5.00 movie night at the Roxy. That’s right, first run films for only $5.00. Roxy 11 is located on Verduga Way in Camarillo. We’ll select the movie and update that info on our facebook page, be there around 7 to be part of the Bears Movie Night.

We, the Board of Bears Ventura, have established a goal for our 15th Anniversary of raising $15,000 for local charity programs. We collectively feel that the budget cuts placed on community programs supporting LGBTQ programs and HIV/AIDS services are unacceptable and will have a devastating effect on our community at large.
Throughout the year, special fundraising events will be hosted to reach our goal of $15,000. We invite everyone to be a part of these events, members and non-members alike. We are all part of the community at large and we know that together, we can reach this goal and provide some much needed support.
Our tally board will keep you up to date on our fundraising efforts; please check back often to see how, with your help, we’ve done.
As with everything we do, Bears Ventura will remain true to the original spirit of the club’s organization, “to have fun”. If you have an event suggestion, don’t hesitate to contact any Board Member and if you’d like to assist with any of our events, the invitation stands. This is about the entire club supporting Ventura’s entire gay community.

On behalf of Bears Ventura, we thank everyone for their support of TEMPTation! Through the generous support of our sponsors 665 Leather and Swear Under Gear and the donations received at the door, Bears Ventura was able to donate over $1500 to the Tom of Finland Foundation and to Ventura County AIDS Walk for Life.
And even better than the money we raised, was the fact that we exposed the works of Tom of Finland, along with other artists, to a young LGBT community that probably had never seen the work before or were at all aware of the history surrounding these works. To open their eyes and enlighten them to this part of gay history was something that we are extremely proud of.
Bears Ventura extends a huge thank you to Durk, Meat and Sharon of the Tom of Finland Foundation. Their efforts were greatly appreciated and we hope that you enjoyed your evening at Paddy’s with us.
We also thank Curtis and Steff at 665 Leather and Fetish for their generous product donation…the raffle packages were great and helped us raise even more money.
To Sweat Under Gear…makers of some seriously fine under gear, thank you for your donation.
Of course the evening would not have been possible without the support of Paddy’s, who generously gave over the door on a Saturday evening so that we could donate 100% of the donations to the charities. And big Bears Ventura hugs and thanks to DJ Steve Mercado and DJ Bill Dupp, the night would have been so boring without you both.
Until we lead you into TEMPTation again…thanks to everyone for being a part of this special night and for helping us help others.

Bears Ventura
Bears Ventura is an organization for Bears and their admirers. We are a social club which organizes activities for members that allow them to interact with each other, meet new people and make new friends. On a monthly basis the club hosts a Bear Bust from 4PM-8PM on the first Sunday of every month at Paddy's in Ventura.
