HIV and AIDS is your next door neighbor!
On Saturday, May 17, at 10am, we will embark on the 17th annual AIDS Walk For Life through the streets of downtown Ventura. Not only is the Walk For Life an important fundraiser for AIDS Project Ventura County, but it once again publicly reminds us that AIDS and HIV is not over and hits close to home.
With this letter, please find a Walk 2008 pledge form. Even if you, yourself, cannot join us on Walk Saturday, won’t you help us raise donations and pledges? We’ll even supply surrogate walkers if you’ll do the legwork and collect pledges from co-workers, friends, family, church members, and other individuals that know you, know AIDS and are willing to contribute to this important cause.
AIDS Project Ventura County does amazing work. Under the direction of Martin Perrier, Director of Case Management and Lynne Okun, Director of Mental Health programming, both see to it that clients receive care for both body and mind including –
Weekly food pantry, Emergency Funds Assistance, Legal Assistance, Support Services, Crisis Intervention, Telephone Support, Information and Referral, Relationship Challenges, Depression and Anxiety, Substance Abuse, Domestic Violence, Life Challenges and High Risk Behavior Inteverntion
AIDS Project Ventura County is the largest private provider of HIV/AIDS services in the county. Founded in 1993 and recently relocated to a state of the art 4,000 sq. ft. facility, AIDS Project Ventura County is well positioned to meet the ever changing challenges of this disease.

- Gather friends and form a team [Ask me for a “Get Going Kit”- I’ll mail it to you]
- Ask your employer if they will match your pledges – or make a donation
